Common Myths Babies slow down when getting ready to be born - NO! Babies should continue to move in their normal pattern up to AND during labour Babies run out of room - NO! The womb is not a fixed structure it grows with your baby. You should feel 10 kicks in 2 hours - NO! There is no set number of movements you need to feel. An Australian study showed women felt between 1 and 100 movements in an hour, it is impossible to set a standard limit. Every pregnant person should get to know their baby's regular pattern and report any change. You should have a cold or sugary drink if your baby's movements slow down - NO! If you notice any change in your baby's movements you should report it immediately. If you were unwell and someone threw a glass of cold water on you, you may jump!
