Your donation will help us tackle dangerous misinformation by funding expert reviews, awareness resources, reporting tools, and outreach to the websites and apps pregnant people rely on most.

Studies consistently show that a change in fetal movement is associated with a higher risk of stillbirth. Raising awareness of baby’s movements and encouraging parents to report any change immediately can help reduce the risk of stillbirth. But there is still so much misinformation online, and we want to get rid of it!
"As a bereavement midwife I see the utter devastation when a baby dies during pregnancy. I hear again and again about information people have read in literature, been told, and have seen online that is incorrect. To improve and standardise this message would be brilliant!" - Rachael Moss, Bereavement Midwife, Northampton General Hospital
Many parents rely on apps, forums, and commercial websites for pregnancy information over trusted sources. Trust is often placed in site branding, repetition across sources, or site popularity, not in evidence or accuracy. Brands and commercial sites have an ethical obligation to have correct fetal movement information, and we are here to help. Search engines often return results from both US and UK websites so we need a global effort to make the internet a safer space for parents to be.
We are calling on all pregnancy websites, or websites with any mention of fetal movements, to review their information. We have set up a dedicated email for any sites that would like Kicks Count to review or write their fetal movement content. Email - [email protected]
If you notice any sites with incorrect information please report it via our dedicated web page
https://www.kickscount.org.uk/forms/misinformation
and we will contact the sites to help them improve their information.
